KATE WINTERS HAS WON IMMORTALITY.

BUT IF SHE WANTS A LIFE WITH HENRY IN THE UNDERWORLD, SHE'LL HAVE TO FIGHT FOR IT.

Becoming immortal wasn't supposed to be the easy part. Though Kate is about to be crowned Queen of the Underworld, she's as isolated as ever. And despite her growing love for Henry, ruler of the Underworld, he's becoming ever more distant and secretive. Then, in the midst of Kate's coronation, Henry is abducted by the only being powerful enough to kill him: the King of the Titans.

As the other gods prepare for a war that could end them all, it is up to Kate to save Henry from the depths of Tartarus. But in order to navigate the endless caverns of the Underworld, Kate must enlist the help of the one person who is the greatest threat to her future.

Henry's first wife, Persephone.

Taschima's POV:

Goddess Interrupted was a good sequel when it came to the story line, but the romance pissed me off and it made our main character, and her intended, less likable. Basically I liked where the story was going, but my two main concerns were Henry and Kate.

Since Kate fought tooth and nail and gave up her mortal life to be immortal and help Henry get over his sorry ass so he wouldn't fade you would think that he would appreciate her more right? But at the end it seems like nothing is enough for our darling "oh so conflicted and sad" Henry.

Look guys, I am all up for a little fighting/miscommunication to get the ball rolling, but when you have our main character pinning for a boy who won't give her the light of day and she continuously keeps making excuses for him instead of flat out confronting him and putting the cards on the table? Then we have a problem, and I am sorry but if this is going to become a pattern in this series I can honestly just rate the next one as well because this just doesn't fly with me. Kate was extremely needy and insecure in the novel (I can understand the neediness, because she is Henry's wife and he doesn't give her the time of day), and Henry just doesn't have an excuse for his behavior, not really (Ice Jerk). The relationship between Kate and Henry (which is what half the dialogue in the book concentrates on) kind of got worse, if that is even possible. I can honestly say that I cringed every time these two were together, and I just wanted them to go their own separate ways because kids this relationship just doesn't work. At all.

Other than that though this book was pretty cool. I mean, Titans vs. the Gods has been played out before true, but it is still interesting to see how each author plays it differently. There wasn't enough action because mostly everything was done "behind the curtain" aka we almost never got to see it. I liked Ava and James in the novel, and am very excited that we get to meet Persephone, that brought a lot to the story (even though I disliked her with the burning passion of a thousand suns).

By the way, I am officially Team James and there is no way I am changing my mind. Even though he has his faults (a bit of a man whore) he was the only one who showed that he cared about Kate and showed her all her options. A relationship between Kate and James I can see developing, even though it never will (they went to Greece and other places together for six months and loved it, I cannot see Kate and Henry having anything to talk about for six months... imagine just how awkward that trip would be *shudders*).

I disliked the cliffhanger, and to be completely honest I was a little confused when it came to where some major characters were supposedly placed at by the end there. Some big battles we simply didn't get to see, and how it all is set up for the next book intrigues me but at the same time I consider it to be a bad choice/move for the dynamic duo that is Kate/Henry.

BUT I still liked it, in spite of it all. In spite of it's relationship flaws, I found the story enjoyable and it moved along quite nicely. I think it could have used more work on building the Greek world and less on Kate's neurosis.

Will I read the next book? Yes, but Goddess Interrupted was definitely not a fav like The Goddess Test was.
