Trying to work things out with Nash—her maybe boyfriend—is hard enough for Kaylee Cavanaugh. She can't just pretend nothing happened. But "complicated" doesn't even begin to describe their relationship when his ex-girlfriend transfers to their school, determined to take Nash back.
See, Sabine isn't just an ordinary girl. She's a mara, the living personification of a nightmare. She can read people's fears—and craft them into nightmares while her victims sleep. Feeding from human fear is how she survives.
And Sabine isn't above scaring Kaylee and the entire school to death to get whatever—and whoever—she wants.

READ AT YOUR OWN RISK.
My Soul to Steal by Rachel Vincent was pure DRAMA. The last book ended on a very strong note, having our heroine break up with the main love interest out of completely fair terms (mainly he broke her trust by letting a demon take possession of her body and then the first time that that happened things in the bedroom went a bit too far out of our heroine's comfort zone... yeah I'd be breaking up him with, along with breaking his nose and some other pretty interesting anatomical parts of his body) but then on this book Rachel Vincent brings a special character to ruin the "healing" process of our main character's relationship post break up- an ex girlfriend of Nate named Sabine (one of the many, but one who seemed to have a GREAT impact in his life)who is a walking nightmare. And so we spent more than half the novel seeing the bickering between the two exes, Nate professing his love for Kay, Tod appearing at totally weird intervals (with different personalities at one point), and Emma, well, being Emma which means being totally oblivious to the horror going on around her. But you know for what this makes? A completely entertaining filler to the story. I finished it in a day and since I already have the next one in my possession, If I Die, I think I'm going to head right along and start reading it.
This book is a solid 4 star, interesting, a good addition to the series, but not spectacular. Hopefully the next one, If I Die, will give us something to really scream about.
PS; Kaylee's powers still don't impress me, but man can this girl be clever. I like her cause she is feisty and smart but with incredibly lame powers. Which is why I want to know why exactly Avari (Hellion of Greed) wants her so badly...
