He shakes his head. "You think my first instinct is to protect you. because you're small, or a girl, or a Stiff. But you're wrong."

He leans his face close to mine and wraps his fingers around my chin. His hand smells like metal. When was the last time he held a gun, or a knife? My skin tingles at the point of contact, like he's transmitting electricity through his skin.

"My first instinct is to push you until you break, just to see how hard I have to press," he says, his fingers squeezing at the word "break." My body tenses at the edge in his voice, so I am coiled as tight as a spring, and I forget to breathe."

I waited far too long for this book. It is so good. The factions, the characters, the relationships, the challenges... Everything by now is pretty much awesome. Have you guys read this book? If you haven't you should. Tris is a bold girl, I like her. The thing about her is that she is not a hero, she is just a regular kid and you can sympathise with her and see yourself in her shoes. Most of the girls I read about have super powers, or they almost always feel the right things (they are selfless, caring, etc). Tris isn't afraid to at times feel selfish, or envious, or anything like that. She is just her. Love her!

And if you can please vote on the left sidebar for what book should I tackle next that would be great! For now it seems The Pledge is winnig so excited!
